Fresh in February

Clearly I've been slacking on blog content recently. I never intended for this to happen, but junior year has been very time consuming and commitment heavy. I've become recently engulfed in ACT prep tutoring, college research, drill team, and keeping up my second semester junior grades all while trying to maintain a social life. In light of recent events, I've decided to take a little blogging break. This break will give me time to shoot a few outfits, plan some posts and come back with much better quality posts. I know that recently when I have been blogging I've been trying to pull things together at the last minute and it's not my best work. I never want this to be what I feature on my blog so taking some time off will give me a bit of a mental break and help me to return motivated and excited!

I'm looking forward to talking to you soon!

Ta ta for now!

DIY Notebooks

With school back in session for the second semester we all could use some adorable school supplies! I featured these DIY notebooks a while back on the Undeniable Report! If you haven't checked out the site you have to! It's fabulous! These notebooks are super easy to make, it just takes a little bit of time and a few supplies!

+plain notebooks (I got mine here)
+washi tape
+photos for decor
+gold paint
+pencil
+painters tape

For the first notebook (far left) I simply painted the entire cover of the notebook with gold paint. After it finished drying I added one of my favorite photos of my sister and I. I used this super fun bicycle washi tape to add a fun touch!

For the next notebook I used the gold paint and the eraser of a new pencil to add a fun polka dot print. This takes a bit of time and patience, so just be prepared! The best way to get the dots to be in a certain formation is to draw diagonal lines with the dots. Once the paint was dry I added a fun photo strip of me and my pal Ava, again using the washi tape.

For the last notebook I used painters tape to diagonally divide the notebook in half. I painted one of these halves with the gold paint for a simple, asymmetrical pattern.

I'm absolutely obsessed with how these notebooks turned out because they are so cute! Let me know what you think and/or if you try them out!

Lilly Pulitzer X Target

The new Lilly Pulitzer collection that's hitting Target stores in April has been all the rage. When I first heard the news I was absolutely overjoyed! I'm a huge fan of Lilly Pulitzer, but I was excited when Target would offer different types of products with Lilly prints. I don't have a Lilly store near me and the products that are available online are limited to clothing, shoes, jewelry, and a few accessories. As Lilly always said, "style isn't about what you wear, it's about how you live". With this statement in mind I can't wait to purchase a few items for the home from the new collection. I am intrigued though as to how the clothing line is going to play out. I'm a huge fan of the iconic prints, but Lilly Pulitzer has always been known to be more of a luxury brand with a higher price tag. When sold at Target I'm sure the prices will only be a fraction of what they usually are. I'm interested to see the quality of these products as well. Needless to say, I'm looking forward to the collection!

But, there was so much controversy on Twitter and I was so confused! I thought everyone would be so excited that the brand of Lilly Pulitzer is branching out and extending to a wider audience. Yet, people didn't seem to feel that way. I read an article by Marissa that totally made me believe that the Lilly Pulitzer collection for Target is a good thing! I totally agree with her that extending Lilly Pulitzer to Target stores not only appeals to a larger audience, but also promotes the idea that "fashion is for everyone" no matter what price range one can afford.

Let me know what you think of the Lilly Pulitzer for Target collection! I'd love to hear!

How To Be Charming

I recently found this pin and I was utterly obsessed. A few of my role models include Audrey Hepburn, Jackie Kennedy and Sarah Vickers--very charming ladies. When I read this pin it totally changed my idea of what it means to be charming. We all have those people who are so pleasant to be around, very poised and make you feel entirely comfortable just being with them. I have always envied those people, yet I finally realized that I have the entire power to be charming too. These tips made me totally rethink who I am as a person and gave me the insight into the truth of being charming. It's simple. As expressed by the image above, it's the little things that a person does that truly makes them charming. If you're looking for more, be sure to check out Joelle Charming!

Room Inspiration

I've come to the conclusion that I can't entirely re-do my room. I'm leaving for college (hopefully lol) in less than two years and entirely re-doing my space just seems a little silly. However, I do want to spice up my room a bit and make it a little more "me". I think the main issue to my room is just all the stuff I have lying around in it. I need to figure out how to organize things better because it gets messy all too fast. Aside from that I want to change my bedding a bit, just for something a little more simple. Right now I have some Hawaiian floral type pattern from PB Teen and I'm just not the hugest fan of it anymore. Oh, and I want to add more gold to the room (because I'm obsessed with gold). Here's what I've been visioning...

I've been obsessed with these sheets for the longest time. I'm either hoping to purchase those sheets to add a fun touch of gold, or just sticking with some plain white sheets (an added monogram couldn't hurt).

Hello 2015

Happy new year everyone! It's 2015 which is crazy to think! This year I'm looking forward to plenty of things, but I'm not so sure if 2014 can be beat! In 2014 I had so many different adventures, went plenty of new places and overall made a lot of new friends. For the longest time I didn't like high school whatsoever, but in 2014 I finally started to enjoy it. I'm really excited to see what 2015 brings in my life. Here are a few goals I have set for myself in the new year!

+Get healthy // I set this goal for myself last year and I was very successful within the first two months. After those months I sort of gave up, but this year I really don't want to. I have everything I need at my fingertips to live a healthy lifestyle yet I'm always caving into junk food.

+Narrow down my college search // I've been contemplating college recently and I've been pretty lost as to what I'm exactly looking for. Hopefully in 2015 I'll do extensive research to narrow down what schools I'm looking at and head out to visit a few of those schools!

+Save my money // I have an awful habit of spending money right after I earn it and further from that spending all my money on food. I'm cool with heading out to brunch with friends and splurging a bit, but I need to quit it with my late night Taco Bell runs.

+Expand my social media platforms // I really suck at posting nice instagram pictures, but I definitely want to improve this in the future. Having a strong social media presence is extremely important to having a successful blog, but I haven't seemed to nail down my identity on social media.

+Buy less, choose wisely // I have definitely been known to go a little crazy when it comes to shopping. I don't think I need to cut down on my shopping, but I do thing I need to be making better decisions when it comes to buying so much. Sometimes when I buy things I tend to focus on quantity and not quality. I'd much rather purchase something that I'll wear all the time and is a bit more pricey than buy a bunch of things I'll only wear occasionally for a cheaper price.

What are your resolutions for the new year?
